Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a new multi-year lease agreement for a 7-ton roller for the Department of Public
Works. Districts currently share the equipment and due to the high volume of projects,
the districts must coordinate and wait for one project to be completed before starting a
new one. The additional equipment will allow for increased efficiency and productivity.
The lease cost is approximately $2,200 per month for 60 months. If there are any

A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for a period of five (5) years for a
7-Ton Roller for the Department of Public Works - Highways Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): -
The 7-Ton Roller is essential to complete projects in a timely manner. Districts currently borrow from other
districts and projects are coordinated when equipment is avaliable. Due to the amount of projects, the
additional equipment will increase efficiency and amount of work done due to the 7-Ton Roller being
avaliable for use instead of waiting for one district to complete a project before starting a new one.
The 7-Ton Roller will be leased for a period of five (5) years. The purchase is estimated at $130,000. The
estimated monthly cost of the lease is $2,200. '
Funding for the lease is included inthe FY 2019-2020 Budget. This equipment will be leased financed such
that the County will own the equipment at the end of the five (5) year lease.
