YY ofM '• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII • � =V'' I. <br /> • �'''-�.�/: : STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> ____,) <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 348 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII FOR ITS PU'UHONUA WELLNESS CTE PATHWAY NETWORK <br /> PROGRAM IN WEST HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist <br /> offenders that have been released from correctional institutions to reintegrate into the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i, in partnership with Blueprint for Change and <br /> Hawai`i Community College, has coordinated agriculture based educational courses in Hawai`i <br /> County called the Pu'uhonua Wellness CTE Pathway Network; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's "Pu'uhonua Wellness CTE Pathway Network" <br /> program offers free college certified courses in West Hawai`i for formerly incarcerated Native <br /> Hawaiian persons and their at-risk families from age 15 and older; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is seeking funds to help pay for expenses associated <br /> with the Pu'uhonua Wellness CTE Pathway Network courses, such as a class monitor, <br /> refreshments, and supplies for outside activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the <br /> criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other <br /> criminal justice agencies and the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i for its Pu'uhonua Wellness <br /> CTE Pathway Network program in West Hawai`i. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
