RESOLUTION NO. 352 19
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR
A MAILING-SYSTEM MACHINE FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK,
SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year shall be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i wishes to enter into a multi-year lease for five years
for a new mailing-system machine for the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services
Division; and
WHEREAS, the maintenance and lease on the current mailing system will expire on
December 31, 2019, and due to the high volume of mail being sent out from Support Services, a
replacement machine is needed; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services Division, wishes to enter
into a five-year lease agreement for a new mailing-system machine for approximately $611 per
month; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement for a mailing-system
machine for the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds shall be budgeted in future fiscal
years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable Mayor Harry Kim, Director of Finance, and County Clerk.
