Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Harold T.
Tanouye, Jr, of Hilo to the Hawaii County Board of Appeals to
replace Stephanie Tabbada of Ka'u, whose term of office will
expire on December 31, 1996.
Since 1977, Mr. Tanouye has been with the Green Point
Nurseries, Inc., and currently serves as its president. He is
the auditor of the Church of the Holy Cross, and President of
the Hilo Y's Men Club. He also once served as a member of the
Board of Appeals (July 22, 1992 to May 5, 1993). He states
that he has no political party affiliation.
If approved, Mr. Tanouye will serve a term to end December 31,
2001. Should the Council require further information regarding
this submission, you may call me at your convenience.
