I know many of you are also parents. To not declare a state of emergency and to not do everything we possibly can to stop the irresponsible and dangerous trajectory we are on in regards to climate is to fail our children, and their children. We ask a lot of you, our elected representatives, and I am fully aware that there are systems in place in the county that will take an enormous amount of work and will to turn around. We must rise with the occasion. You have been elected to lead us, and we are counting on you to face this hugely difficult task with enormous courage. A unanimous vote of support on this critical resolution would be just the kind of extraordinary action we need right now. It would open the door to further action that is so desperately needed. I strongly urge you to support this resolution. Our future depends on it. Thank you for your service, Maya Parish Hawi omm. o ' *• Ref. TO: Ref. ate_®C 1. 2019 e
