;MtY OF N,,.' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII . �'="��!_• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 4qiI <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 355 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br /> ALLIANCE FOR COMMUNITY BASED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR <br /> REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATING TO VIBRANT HAWAII ISLAND. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Alliance for Community Based Economic Development <br /> (HACBED) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to build the capacity of families and <br /> communities so that they have choice and control to achieve social, economic, and environmental <br /> justice; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawai`i Island stakeholders are collectively focused on the goal of <br /> poverty reduction which will positively affect our island's economic capacity, health outcomes, <br /> educational attainments, and community vitality; and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 27, 2019, HACBED collaborated with Vibrant Hawai`i Island <br /> and a variety of multi-sector stakeholders including faith groups, educators, businesses, and social <br /> service organizations, to present a summary and synthesis of community engagements and an <br /> understanding of current and emerging policy, and opportunities to influence plans, policy, and <br /> administration; and <br /> WHEREAS, HACBED is requesting a reimbursement of funds for expenses such as <br /> facility reservations, supplies, software, and materials that supported the Vibrant Hawaii strategy <br /> team; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports initiatives that <br /> improve household financial self-sufficiency and mobility; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Alliance for Community Based <br /> Economic Development for reimbursement of expenses relating to Vibrant Hawai`i Island. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
