SUBJECT: Nonprofit Grants and Purchase of Services
Attached please find a bill which will place a limit of $900,000
for nonprofit grants and establish procedures for purchase of
services. As Chairman of the Committee on Finance, I am concerned
that the County has placed itself in an endless situation and it is
time that corrective action be implemented.
I have no dispute with all of the worthwhile causes these agencies
serve, but I am concerned that our own county programs and services
must suffer because of the diversion of funds. Revenue projection
for the County is not optimistic and we need to begin tQ refocus
our directions by concentrating on basic county services.
