...-*L.-7., <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII • V‘:h /_# STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 357 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF FUNDS <br /> TO BE USED TOWARDS TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSES INCURRED FROM <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER REBECCA VILLEGAS' ATTENDANCE AT A CLIMATE <br /> SUMMIT AND CONFERENCE IN NEW YORK CITY. <br /> WHEREAS, Council Member Rebecca Villegas, along with other Hawai`i <br /> representatives, attended a week-long Climate Summit and a one-day conference titled"Climate <br /> Crisis, Global Land Use, and Human Rights Conference" during the 74th United Nations General <br /> Assembly in New York City; and <br /> WHEREAS, Clean Energy Group, Inc., has donated funds for the purpose of subsidizing <br /> the cost for travel and other expenses incurred from attending both the summit and conference <br /> that were held in September 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the County Charter provides that the <br /> Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br /> personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br /> County, accepts the donation of$1,500 from Clean Energy Group, Inc. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution <br /> be sent to Lewis Milford, President, Clean Energy Group, Inc., 50 State Street, Suite 1, <br /> Montpelier, Vermont 05602. <br />
