WHEREAS, g1R. NORIYASU MATSUMURA, Safety Representative of
the Department of Public works, has been selected as the Hawaii
Outstanding Handicapped Employee of the Year; and
WHEREAS, 2,18. MATSUMURA has been nominated to serve on the
Commission on the Handicapped for the President' s Committee on
Employment of the Handicapped; and
WHEREAS, YR. KATSUIvXPA., a Vietnam Bronze Star recipient,
was seriousl,,,,, injured during the Vietnam campaign but has learned
to adjust to his handicaps to become a productive citizen of the
County of Hawaii; and
E`HEREAS, OR. Y1,A.TSUMURA, as the departmental safety representa-
tive, has expanded the departmental safety program to insure and
promote safe working conditions for all of his fellow workers; and
WHEREAS, MR. MATSUMURA, a very active member of many community
organizations, is truly an exemplary citizen of the United States
of America, State and County of Hawaii , and I-Lis community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HXNAII that it commends MR. NORIYASU MATSUMURA for being named
Hawaii Outstanding Handicapped Employee of the Year and that he
continues his dedicated efforts toward a betterment for mankind.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii remit a true copy of this resolution to MR. NOON SU
MATSUMURA, Co,,inty of Hawaii.
