Subject: support climate emergency resolution
Aloha, Members of the Hawai`i County Council:
I support the Climate Emergency Resolution introduced by Council Member Poindexter.
To tackle the looming threat of mass extinction posed by the Climate Emergency, more than small individual
efforts are needed. We need systemic changes that can only be effected by government—to get away from
fossil-fuel dependence, reduce carbon emissions, support renewable energies and electric vehicles that run on
renewables.
My family has photovoltatic panels and back up batteries on our house to generate and store solar energy. I just
put down a down payment on an electric car. But this is a drop in the bucket. We need your kokua. Please do
everything in your power to help.
