Dear council members,
With the passage of Bill 101,Hawaii County has an opportunity to set an example for the rest of the state
about what it means to put the health and safety of our people and the environment first. There is no excuse
for reliance on toxic chemicals for pest,weed and invasive species management when numerous examples
of non-toxic best practices exist and can be easily replicated across government lands.
At all levels,and in all jurisdictions,our democratically-elected government has a duty to prioritize the
health and safety of its people and shape policy to reflect that priority. Confidence in our elected officials is
at an all-time low.Please help restore public confidence by moving this measure forward on behalf of those
who elected you to office.
