Subject: Please vote in favor of Bill 101
Dear Hawai'i County Council Members,
1 am a 67 year old thirty year Hawaii resident with the last 13 years being in Volcano on Hawai'i Island.
I am very much in favor of bill 101 because I have animals and 1 watched what happened when my neighbor used
roundup to kill weeds in his yard. He was upslope from my yard and my cats would drink from puddles in the driveway
between us.They started to develop tumors in their necks and before my neighbor stopped using toxic chemicals,
several of my cats died from throat and neck tumors. 1 can't get them back, but my neighbor did stop using roundup! No
more tumors.
As we know children are very susceptible to environmental toxins as their bodies are smaller and still growing. Please
consider the alternative ways to contain weeds in public places. Mahalo.
