Dear Chair Chung and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Marcella "Bobbye" St. Ambrogio of Council District 1 to the
Police Commission. Ms. St. Ambrogio is a retired Chief of the Bergin County Sheriff
Department in New Jersey.
Ms. St. Ambrogio is a graduate of Mills College with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Education and from the New Jersey Law Enforcement Academy.
Since moving to Hawaii 17 years ago, Ms. St. Ambrogio has been active in volunteering
in our community with numerous organizations. She currently serve as the Community
Safety Educator with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, as the Hawai'i Island
Coordinator with the Neighborhood Watch program, as liaison with the Community
Policing, Fire Commission, and many others
Ms. St. Ambrogio is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, she will serve a
term to end December 31, 2023.
