Dear Chair Chung and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Rod Quartararo of Council District 7 to the Police
Commission. Mr. Quartararo is a retired banker after 37 years in the industry.
Mr. Quartararo holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Loyola Marymount
University in Los Angeles. He moved to Hawai'i approximately 6 years ago and currently
volunteers as a mediator with the West Hawai'i Mediation Center.
Mr. Quartararo is a member of the Democratic Party. If confirmed, he will serve to fill a
vacant term ending December 31, 2019 and will qualify to apply for reappointment to a
full five-year term.
