Dear Chair Chung and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Max Edward Newberg of South Kohala to the Leeward
Planning Commission.
Mr. Newberg is a journeyman carpenter and currently works at the Hawai'i Regional
Council of Carpenters.
As a volunteer, Mr. Newberg provides help with various projects to the Habitat for
Humanity. He also previously served on the County Board of Appeals. ,
Mr. Newberg has been a resident of Hawai'i Island for over 20 years. He indicates that
he is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Newberg will fill a vacant seat
with a term expiring March 31, 2024.
