Subject: Re: BOE meeting on 6124. Ban pesticides on school grounds!
Dear Park and Road Testimony,
I am an educational assistant working for Hawaii Department of Education. I work with special education school kids
who may be exposed to Roundup and other pesticides. These kids especially should not be exposed to pesticides at all.
1 am writing in strong support of Bill 101 which prohibits the use of toxic pesticides and herbicides on all county-owned
parks, roads, bikeways, sidewalks, trails, drainage ways, and waterways.
This legislation is critical to protect Hawai'i County from these common sources of exposure to harmful herbicides.
The science is clear that even small amounts of herbicide exposure overtime poses serious harm to people, animals and
the environment. Protecting the community should be a priority of this body.
We must do all that we can to protect our community—especially our children—when it comes to exposure to these
poisons.
For these reasons, I urge you to support Bill 101.Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Will MacClymont Davis
