COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII �TfOF.M.. •- RESOLUTION NO. 369 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE AUTISM SOCIETY OF HAWAII TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 11TH ANNUAL SURFERS HEALING HAWAII EVENT. WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to inform, facilitate, and advocate for persons with autism; and WHEREAS, Surfers Healing is a national organization which was created in California for the purpose of allowing autistic and disabled children to experience the healing and calming effects of the ocean; and WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i and the Department of Parks and Recreation are working with Surfers Healing Hawai`i Island Chapter to coordinate the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i event in Hilo on November 30, 2019, to provide autistic or disabled children the experience of surfing and being in the ocean; and WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Hawai`i has requested funds to purchase medals, trophies, refreshments, and t-shirts for this event; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to The Autism Society of Hawai`i for expenses related to the 11th Annual Surfers Healing Hawai`i event in Hilo. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
