MATAYOSHI, 'Mayor PC(- I 0 00 0 County of HwalimmState of aHawaii WHEREAS, in 1975, almost 100 percent of the owners, managers, employers, and other interested parties doing business in the Liliuokalani Industrial Tract supported by petition, the retaining of a section of a so-called "temporary road" connecting Kaiwi Street and Queen Kaahumanu Highway; and WHEREAS, it is reported that the State is again seriously considering the removing of this section of roadway for the reasons that the road is sub -standard and its proximity to the Queen Kaahumanu Highway and the Palanie intersection is deemed to be hazardous; and WHEREAS, since the date of the petition, a period of two years, thi's roadway has withstood h.eavy traffic, proven to be relatively safe and more importantly has been a functional and a useful convenience to its many users; and WHEREAS, the Ll*liuokalani Industrial Tract has grown faster than anticipated thereby compounding the existing shortage of'adequate ingress and egress out of this area; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it supports the retaining of this roadway until such time as the access road(s) as proposed by the State is completed® BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii t true copies of this resolution to E. remit Alvey Wright, Director, State Department of Transportation, and G.
