TAMEREAS, on October 23, 1977, as a result of sunlight reflect-
ing through a magnifving glass, enough heat was generated ignioting

WHEREAS , Mr. Wayne Kaneshiro, a Honokaa High School teacher
upon detecting this fire, did display decisive leadership by
grabbing a pre-connected fire hose, breaking window, and effectively
placed a stream of water directly onto the burning material; and

WHEREAS, lof not for Mr. Kaneshiro' s positive action and
involvement a classroom building valued at $100 , 000 would have been
complete1v destroyed,
N4011i THEREPOIPEEI BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that lot takes th'i's means to coranend -Mr. Wayne Kaneshiro
for his exemplary and decisive action which saved the taxpayers

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawall
be and 'is hereby directed to transialot a true copy of this resolution
to Mjr. Wayne Kaneshiro.
