Dear Members,
Asa property owner in Maliu Ridge, North Kohala, I wish to express my support for the
deletion of Condition "G" of zone Ordinance No. 85-48 (REZ 500) for the following
reasons.
I am afraid the connector road would increase traffic in our rural neighborhood.
The community would not be as safe for pedestrians, joggers, and children playing.
Most of my trips are to the Post Office and stores in Hawi and Kapaau for which I would
use Hawi Hill Road and not the proposed connector road, especially if there were gates
to open and close because of cattle.
Residents of Maliu Ridge tend to drive very carefully while non-residents using
Puumamo Road as a shortcut would be more likely to speed.
I have read the traffic study provided by M&E Pacific and agree that the connector road
is not necessary.
