ACCEPTING FOR MAINTENANCE PURPOSES ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS ON CERTAIN STREETS IN UNIT II
OF THE PANAEWA RESIDENCE LOTS
WHEREAS, Section 220 of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1920
specifies that the roads through or over Hawaiian Home Lands shall
be maintained by the county in which said particular roads to be
maintained are located; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Hawaiian HLands

State of Hawaii,
desires to convey to Hawaii County for maintenance purposes the
roadway improvements on certain streets in Unit II of the Panaewa
Residence Lot, namely, Ho'ohua Street, Ka' ie' ie Place Ohuohu Street
the extension of Paipai Street and the extension of Pohai Street as
shown on the attached Exhibit A; and
� WHEREAS Hawaiian, the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, has granted to the
County of Hawaii the right to enter the roadways for purposes of
performing maintenance activities; and
WHEREAS; the Chief Engineer of the County of Hawaii has recommended
that the road improvements be accepted for maintenance purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED� S LVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, that the County of Hawaii accept and maintain the roadway
improvements on certain streets i
