HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 237 Draft 01 1976-1980 • . , County of Hawaii--State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, the town of Honokaa has over the years experienced flooding; and WHEREAS, there is recognition that the ultimate solution to this problem is the establishment of a comprehensive flood control program; and WHEREAS, the Soil Conservation Service of the United States Department of Agriculture is tasked with the responsibility of investigating such programs and projects; and WHEREAS, the people of Honokaa are desirous of having such a program initiated, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that, cognizant of a recurring flooding problem in Honokaa, it requests that the Soil Conservation Service investigate the possibility and feasibility of instituting a flood control project in Honokaa. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this resolution to Mr. Jack Kanalz, State Conservationist for the Soil Conservation Service—Hawaii District, United States Department of Agriculture and to the Honorable Herbert T.
