Dear Honorable Council members,
During the County Convention, I handed many of you a packet with a
link to a company that makes municipal steam weeding machines. There are
many companies that make these tractors. They target areas around signs,
guardrails, roadsides, sidewalks, in our parks around our schools. These
tractors are cheaper to operate than the spray truck you currently use and get
the job done just as fast. They also have the added benefit of cleaning off
• the salt that accumulates from our salty air, thereby saving even more money
by increasing the longevity of our infrastructure.
I know you're aware that there is no longer any debate, Round Up causes
cancer. Certainly you've seen the advertisements from law firms wanting to
sue Monsanto, I say good, sue them until they're dead. We don't need their
filthy poison. Science has also proven that Round Up persists in the
environment for years, accumulating layer after layer and seeping into our
groundwater and ocean.
•
Finally, it's ugly. No one wants to drive along our roads or visit our parks
and see the dessicated weeds. Then what happens? We have to look at the
poisoned Aina for a couple of months and then the weeds are back just as
strong and thick as they were before, in fact, even stronger, because they
build resistance. It's a never ending loop of insanity. Why not break that
loop and just buy one of these steam tractors and try it out. Just try it, what
are you afraid of?
Don't take my word for it, listen to other County Council
