RESOLUTION NO. 387 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO YWCA OF HAWAII
ISLAND FOR THE 2019 FAMILY VIOLENCE SUMMIT.
WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is
dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace,justice, freedom and
dignity for all; and
WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island, along with the Family Violence Interagency
Committee of East and West Hawai`i and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, will be hosting
the 2019 Family Violence Summit on November 15, 2019, in Hilo; and
WHEREAS, the objective of this event is to provide an overview of domestic violence in
Hawai`i County and unite the community by increasing connections with and support for victims
of family violence; and
WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island is requesting funds to assist with refreshments,
lunches, table covers, lei, and papers products for this event; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family
violence prevention and intervention initiatives; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to YWCA of Hawai`i Island to assist with the 2019
Family Violence Summit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
