RESOLUTION NO. 391 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KURTISTOWN
ASSEMBLY OF GOD FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED AT
THE PUNA KIDS PARTY 2019.
WHEREAS, Kurtistown Assembly of God is a subordinate unit of the General Council
of the Assemblies of God which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides spiritual
services and outreach events; and
WHEREAS, Kurtistown Assembly of God organized a family event at Christian Liberty
Academy on October 31, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. which included free food, games,
prizes, music, entertainment, and family photos; and
WHEREAS, Kurtistown Assembly of God is requesting funds for the reimbursement of
expenses for food, prizes, and light towers that illuminated the event; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that
provide drug-free and alcohol-free events for the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant as reimbursement of expenses to Kurtistown Assembly of God
for the Puna Kids Party 2019.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
