HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 392 Draft 01 2018-2020 -'�tv os ,' \:•slii4.„...., COUNTY OF HAWAII (*(A *) STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 392 19 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO MOUNTAIN VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARENT, TEACHER, STUDENT ASSOCIATION FOR MOUNTAIN VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S `GHANA DAY EVENT. WHEREAS, Mountain View Elementary School Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA) is a subordinate unit of PTA Hawai`i Congress, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of Hawai`i's keiki; and WHEREAS, on March 7, 2020, Mountain View Elementary School will be hosting its annual `Ghana Day, a community-building event where members from various organizations such as Blue Zones Project Hawai`i, Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy, and Bay Clinic Inc. grow partnerships with the school staff, students, and families to exchange service information and do fun activities; and WHEREAS, events at Mountain View Elementary School, such as `Ghana Day, have been growing and attracting more families, and the school is in need of additional covered areas in the case of inclement weather to accommodate the increasing number of attendees; and WHEREAS, Mountain View Elementary School PTSA is requesting funding assistance to purchase equipment and materials such as tents, banners, and supplies for the `Ghana Day event; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports partnerships with other community organizations that promote a healthy environment for students; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Mountain View Elementary School PTSA for Mountain View Elementary School's `Ohana Day event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $5,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $5,000 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $5,000 Public Programs 115 Misc. Contract Services (Mountain View Elementary School PTSA— `Ohana Day) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
