COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 39R 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PUNA MAKAUKAU <br /> FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO THE HAWAII COUNTY <br /> CITIZEN CORPS VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON. <br /> WHEREAS, Puna Makaukau is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates <br /> neighborhood preparedness coalitions designed to mobilize during times of disaster to provide <br /> services and resources to community members in need; and <br /> WHEREAS, Puna Makaukau partnered with Hawai`i County Citizen Corps to host a <br /> volunteer appreciation luncheon on September 20, 2019, to honor the individuals who dedicated <br /> their time and energy to the communities impacted by the 2018 Kilauea eruption; and <br /> WHEREAS, Puna Makaukau is requesting reimbursement for food, drinks, lei, and other <br /> incidentals related to the Hawai`i County Citizen Corps Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County's Civil Defense Agency oversees the development and <br /> administration of the County's total emergency preparedness and response program to ensure <br /> responsive and effective action in the event of a disaster; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense <br /> Agency to provide a grant to Puna Makaukau for reimbursement of expenses related to the <br /> Hawai`i County Citizen Corps Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
