Council District 9 -North and South Kohala
SUBJECT: Presentation on the Hawaii Enterprise Zone
We respectfully request thirty minutes for a presentation on the Hawaii Enterprise Zone
program; a partnership between the State and the County to stimulate business and industrial
growth for Hawaii. Presentation will be spearheaded by Ms. Jane Horike, Economic
Development Specialist with the Department of Research and Development. Fifteen minutes
should be allowed for the presentation and fifteen minutes for questions and answers.
Please take note that a Resolution to Nominate the North Kohala Enterprise Zone.for Re-
Designation by the Governor is being submitted to be heard before committee on November 19,
2019. This presentation would be beneficial for Council Members to understand the program
prior to voting on the resolution.
Please place this on the agenda for the November 19, 2019 Government Relations and Economic
Development Committee meeting. We appreciate your consideration to this request.
