Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of funds of approximately $2,500 from
the International Homicide Investigators Association(IHIA). The funding will be used
towards travel and other expenses for a Police Officer to attend the Advanced
Homicide/Violent Crime Investigator Training. The officer attending is the current
president of IHIA.

A. REQUEST:
Please prepare a resolution to accept and acknowledge a donation of approximately $2,500 for travel &
expenses paid by the International Homicide Investigators Association (IHIA), for Captain Gregory Esteban
to attend the Advanced Homicide/Violent Crime Investigator Course on November 10-16, 2019 in Las
Vegas, NV. Captain Esteban is the current President of IHIA. IHIA arranged travel, registration fees, per
diem and accomodation expenses.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The International Homicide Investigators Association (IHIA) is the world's largest and fastest growing
organization of homicide and death investigation professionals. The nonproft organization represents the
largest network of homicide professionals and practitioners ever assembled. IHIA has invited the Hawaii
County Police Department personnel to multiple training opportunities throughout the years. The training
provided has been beneficial to attendees by providing training on releveant subject matter from well-known
instructors.
