ti WHEREAS, the members of Company B, 100th Battalion, 442d
Infantry, have provided for the common defense and have brought
great honor to themselves and the people of Hawaii through their
acts of courage in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam con-
flicts; and
WHEREAS, these citizen-soldiers have promoted the general
welfare by participating in community service projects aimed at
making Hawaii a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, the citizen-soldiers of the Army Reserve have now
chosen to undertake an effort to recruit new members into this
distinguished unit and to promote public awareness of the famed
units ' role in the Army Reserve and the community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the members of Company B, 100th Battalion, 442d
Infantry, be commended and congratulated for their long and
meritorious service to the people of Hawaii and to our country.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii
encourage the civilian community to support the recruiting effort
of this distinguished unit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a true copy of this resolution to Captain Michael Yamamoto,
Commanding Officer, Company 3, 100th Battalion, 442d Infantry.
