Resolution
WHEREAS, the County's capital investment requirements to take advantage
of new opportunities to expand the economy must be met to encourage the develop-
ment of our island; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii's outstanding bonded debt at December 31, 1977,
was $38,907,670; and
WHEREAS, all or a part of the outstanding debt can be restructured so that
additional bonds could be issued to fund capital improvements programs necessary
to the economic health of the County of Hawaii without enlarging the current rate
of debt service requirements; and
WHEREAS, the additional financial resources shall be utilized for capital
improvement programs which will expand our economic tax base of the County of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the additional bonds issued would provide the financial resources
for the capital improvement programs approved by the County Council of the County
of Hawaii,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to take such action,
including the employment of counsel, underwriters, financial consultants and
others, and to execute and deliver all such instruments and documents in the name
and on behalf of the County of Hawaii, and to pay all such expenses, as in his
judgement shall be necessary, proper and advisable in order to fully carry out
the intent and accomplish the purpose of this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is
hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Herbert T.
Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii.
