HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 265 Draft 01 1976-1980 RESOLUTION NO. 265 WHEREAS, Terry Lynn Paiva was selected and crowned Miss Aloha Hawaii 1978 on April 15, 1973, at the Miss Aloha Hawaii Scholarship Pageant sponsored by the Lehua Jaycees; and WHEREAS, such a feat and honor was well deserved as Terry Lynn competed in a field of eleven beautiful, poised, and talented contestants in the prestigious 27th Annual Pageant; and WHEREAS, Miss Paiva, a graduate of Honokaa High School and a student at Cannon' s International Business College, enhanced her victory by winning the talent and swimsuit categories and capturing the Miss Congeniality award, all attesting to her skills and virtues; and WHEREAS, as Miss Aloha Hawaii, Terry Lynn will also serve the Big Island as an official greeter and represent the island of Hawaii in our statewide Miss Hawaii Pageant, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in recognition and commendation for this esteemed achievement it hereby extends to Miss Terry Lynn Paiva its congratu- lations and best wishes for success during her reign as Miss Aloha Hawaii 1978. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Terry Lynn Paiva, to her parents Albert and Vera Paiva, and to her sponsors, the Honokaa Jaycees and the Hawaiian Holiday Macadamia Nut Company.
