SUBJECT: EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 210
Old Waimea Court House Site
Kamuela, Hawaii
We submit the proposed resolution to cancel Executive Order No. 210 and
to quitclaim all County-owned buildings on the premise to the State
Department of Land and Natural Resources.
As you are aware, the Waimea Police and Fire Stations are now located at
the new Waimea Civic Center. Now that the County operated facilities are
no longer at the E.O. No. 210 site, the County of Hawaii is no longer in
need of the executive order.
As you may also be aware, the Waimea Arts Council is interested in utilizing
the abandoned fire station building. In the past when the police moved out,
the State Probation Officer requested space in the abandoned police building.
Consideration of the resolution is to return the executive order and buildings
to the State for its disposition of the use of the(;facilities. The State
Land Board Chairman has been apprised of the proposed resolution and he
, -----informed us by letter of July 12, 1978 that requests will be considered for
appropriate actio by the Land Board.
