WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its regular meeting of June 1, 1978, approved the following names for certain unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii : Ponahawai , South Hilo, Hawaii Akala Road - Extension of existing road Akolea Place - name of a native fern with beautiful large fronds Kamaha 'o Way - meaning wonderful, surprising Kamapane Place - meaning champagne NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the said roadways located in the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, be named as follows : Ponahawai, South Hilo, Hawaii Akala Road - Extension of existing road Akolea Place - name of a native fern with beautiful large fronds Kamaha 'o Way - meaning wonderful, surprising Kamapane Place - meaning champagne Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 1st day of July , 1978.
