RESOLUTION NO. 282
WHEREAS, on May 22, 1978, Clarence Mendonca of Hilo was
honored by the General Insurance Association of Hawaii as Hawaii
County' s Policeman of the Year for 1977; and
WHEREAS, this traditional service award was presented to
Officer Mendonca in recognition of his meritorious service at
the Hawaii County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Officer Mendonca did, while on temporary assignment
to the Administrative Division, implement departmental training
programs, conduct departmental live firearms training and qualifi-
cations, and distinguish himself as the supervising instructor
of recruit training,
NOW, ThEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it commends Officer Clarence Mendonca on his
outstanding performance and selection by the General Insurance
Association of Hawaii as their Hawaii County Policeman of the
Year for 1977.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution
to Officer Clarence Mendonca and to the Hawaii County Police
Department.
