Resolution
WHEREAS , the Kailua Village Design Plan has been selected
as a 1978 Achievement Award Winner by the National Association
of Counties (NACo) ; and
WHEREAS , these awards are bestowed in national recognition
of progressive county development; and
WHEREAS , this award will be presented at the Annual
National Association of Counties Conference in Atlanta, Georgia
on July 8-12, 1978; and
WHEREAS , the Kailua Village Design Plan, itself an
outgrowth of the Hawaii County General Plan, provides the
mechanism for the quality development of Kailua Village
representing the needs, desires and cooperative efforts of the
community.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it commends the participants of this
project and congratulates them for winning this coveted award.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit copies of this
resolution to the Honorable Herbert T. Matayoshi, Mayor, County
of Hawaii, Sidney Fuke, Director of Planning, County of Hawaii;
the Hawaii County Planning Commission; and the Kailua Village
Design and Review Commission.
