I would like to make known my position on the above mentioned issue. The
underlying issue is that two Humane Society's are competing for the County
contract. West Hawaii Humane Society is using the noa-performance of
Hawaii Island Humane Society, and the use of Sodium Pentobarbital in
order to further their own aims. Mrs. Ginger Towle has repeatedly told me
she would return to the use of the cruel and inhumane gas chamber she used
in Kons. We must try to make the system that the County presently has
contracted for, work Tor the tan payers and the animals. If the audit can
establish that it will be worthwhile.
