Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 547,reports as follows:

Communication No. 547,transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated October 18, 2019, nominates
Justin Bradford Lee to the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission.
Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Justin Bradford Lee. Mr. Lee
graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy and attended the University of Washington and {
Kapi`olani Community College. For approximately 7 years, he worked with the Hawaii County Fire
Department before joining his family business. Mr. Lee is the project manager for Haloa `Aina
Sandalwood Farm and will serve to fill a term expiring December 31, 2019.
Nominee Lee was present and expressed he would be honored to serve on the Public Access, Open j
Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission. Several Council Members commented in
favor of Mr. Lee's nomination, at which time Chair David informed Mr. Lee he did not need to appear
at the next Council meeting for confirmation of his appointment.
Pursuant to Article 42, Section 2-215(a), Hawaii County Code, there is established a Public Access,
Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission, which shall consist of nine members,
appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 547, and
recommends confirmation of the appointment of Justin Bradford Lee to the Public Access, Open Space,
and Natural Resources Preservation Commission. l
