--NZY Oy <br /> i 4' <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII � �..0 <br /> '''" = " STATE OF H.AWAI`I <br /> \,,,,,,_ <br /> ,tE'OF.N�'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 413 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALOHA COUNCIL OF <br /> THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ON <br /> HAWAII ISLAND WITH SCOUT MEMBERSHIP FEES AND CAMPING EXPENSES. <br /> WHEREAS, the Aloha Council is a subsidiary organization of the Boy Scouts of <br /> America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that trains youth in Hawai`i, Guam, and American <br /> Samoa on responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through its Cub <br /> Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, membership for Cub Scouting is open to all youth between 5 and 10 years <br /> of age and between 11 and 17 years of age for Scouts BSA; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Aloha Council is requesting financial assistance to subsidize the costs <br /> for membership fees and camping expenses for low-income families on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Aloha Council prohibits the use of alcoholic beverages and controlled <br /> substances at its facilities and at any activity involving youth members; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports programs that promote <br /> substance-free lifestyles and wellness through clean, healthy activities in alcohol-free and drug- <br /> free locations; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Aloha Council to assist low-income families on Hawai`i <br /> Island with Scout membership fees and camping expenses. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
