RESOLUTION NO. 41$ 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GIRLS TO WOMEN
MENTORING HAWAII FOR ITS PROGRAM RELATED EXPENSES.
WHEREAS, Girls to Women Mentoring Hawai`i, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that offers meaningful connection and skills for adolescents that build empowerment, resilience,
self-esteem, and healthy relationships through circles facilitated by trained adult mentors in
various settings; and
WHEREAS, Girls to Women Mentoring Hawai`i is a newly formed nonprofit that
currently serves students at schools in Kea`au and Pahoa, with plans to add additional schools,
including an adult mentorship circle at the University of Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, Girls to Women Mentoring Hawai`i is requesting funding for its program
expenses, including insurance renewal, promotional merchandise, and website development; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-fee and alcohol-free
programs that enrich the lives of community members; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to Girls to Women Mentoring Hawai`i for its program related
expenses.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
