RESOLUTION NO. 41.9 19
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF FUNDS TO BE USED TOWARDS TUITION,
TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSES TO ATTEND THE BELL
TRAINING ACADEMY TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating funds to the
County of Hawaii Fire Department for training, tuition and travel costs to attend
the Bell Training Academy in Fort Worth, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to send the Director of
Maintenance for Helicopter Operations to this training; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Fire Department recommends approval
of this donation by the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate;
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the
County of Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Laura Mallery-Sayre, Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation,
P.O. Box 1285, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745, and that a copy of this resolution be sent
to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Mayor.
