Enclosed is a resolution creating two new, temporary positions for the Hawaii County Department of Parks & Recreation. Community Service Program Assistant (Temp) SR13 $21,427 (December 2019 through June 2020) Community Service Worker III (Temp) SR11 $19, 845 (December 2019 through June 2020) B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED: The State Department of Business, Economic Development& Tourism provided a DBEDT Social Trans Grant to assist the Elderly Activites Division. The goals and objective of this initiative are to meet the greatest need for seniors, which is paratransit transportion for those senior who no longer can drive or live in rural or remote districts allowing them to access social senior ctivities and allowing them to "Age in Place"for as long as possible. This grant is providing funding for two positions to input all transportation, recreation, social and logitalc information relative to the grant and to prepare the schedule, logistics, arrangements and dispatch transporation for the elderly.
