RESOLUTION NO. 420 19
RESOLUTION CREATING TWO (2) NEW TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR
THE HAWAII COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii was awarded funding from the State
Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism under the DBEDT Social
Trans Grant to assist the Elderly Activities Division by facilitating paratransit
transportation for seniors; and
WHEREAS, the creation of two (2) new, temporary positions are needed to
support the paratransit transportation program for seniors; and
WHEREAS, the two (2) positions indicated above are Community Service
Program Assistant (Temp) and Community Service Worker Ill (Temp); and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that
the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations have been
made by the council..."; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that one
(1) Community Service Program Assistant (Temp) and one (1) Community Service
Worker III (Temp) position be created in the Hawaii County Department of Parks &
Recreation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED funds are available through the DBEDT Social
Trans Grant to facilitate the program.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Office of the Mayor and the Departments of Finance, Human Resources, and Parks &
Recreation.
