My name is Michael Merle.
I live in Kawaihae Village#46

I wanted to contribute my experience with herbicide use within Hapuna Beach State Park
I gave written testimony and photos to Cal Westergard from the Health Department
Cal Westergard is a State of Hawaii Environmental Health Specialist
I filed a complaint with the State Agricultural Department on 9/15/2017
Complaint No. HA-17-14: Hapuna Beach
I was deeply upset by the event that posed a direct threat to the people and environment.
I have not seen the results of my complaints, but I know there were some.
The herbicide used at that time,was sprayed directly on the beach front folliage, particularly the Po
Huihui.
No warning signs were posted and no Park employee took responsibility at that time.
We let the pubic down at that point.
Additionally...7 Endangered Nene were directly exposed and I have photos to prove it
We don't have enough money to pay all the lawsuits
We need to actively reduce exposure to residents and visitors
Poisons of all kinds have no place at County Parks
