Date: Monday,November 04,2014 10:07:15 PM From: mmuench0l@gmaii.com gmail.com <Michael Muench> Message: I have volunteered in the Volcano National Park doing invasive species control. I live in Volcano and have land in Glenwood. INVASIVE SPECIES ARE DESTROYING OUR FOREST. OUR ONLY HOPE IS TO ACTIVELY CUT, HERBICIDE, AND LIMIT THEIR IMPORTATION. THE LIMITATION OF HERBICIDES THAT IS ALREADY TAKING PLACE WILL SHOW A NEGATIVE IMPACT IN A YEAR OR SO. aNY MOVE TO STOP THE USE OF HERBICIDES WILL BE TEMPORARY AND VERY COSTLY. i HAVE SEEN THIS MOVEMENT MAKE TOO MUCH NOT WORTH DOING. iT IS BEING PUSHED BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T DO ANYTHING, AND THERE FOR DON'T UNDERSTAND THE TERRIBLY PROBLEM WE FACE This is just insanity. Next the council will be considering burning witches. Hawaii County Council STRONGLY OPPOSE Bill 101 -Relating to Herbicide Use Dear Hawaii County Council Members, I Oppose this bill for several reasons. 1. Bans the Use of Producst to Control the Albezia Trees 2. Bans Product that help limit habitate for Little Fire Ant Populations 3. Removes important tools and choices to combat invasive plants and prenet noxius weeds and invasive species. 4. I'm unwilling to bear the Cost associated with this Bill as a taxpayer. Please consider the impacts of passing unfunded and un-researched Bilis. What will be the real cost to Hawaii County taxpayers $500,000 or$5 Million; The costs and impacts have not been considered before submitting this Bill. Mahaio, Michael Muench Comm. poq- l*l Ref.
