Dear Council Members,
I'm writing to offer my support and urge the passage of Bill 101.
It is past time we phased out the use of toxic or questionable chemical herbicides in our public
spaces in favor of greener, more integrative, and far more visually attractive practices. It's
encouraging that so many public and private interests across the state are already moving in
the right direction, but it's exciting to see Hawai'i County getting ahead of the curve and
setting an important precedent by codifying these best practices into law to protect the public
interest and safety in our parks and public spaces.
