No. 402-19 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 3:02 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Cominittee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 402-19, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 402-19, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 604 <br /> dated October 31, 2019 authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the United <br /> States Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes Section <br /> 46-7, for a grant to the Police Department. <br /> Funds in the amount of$76,444 would be used by the Police Department to purchase a shooting <br /> simulator for its training program. <br /> Hawaii Police Captain Aimee Nana explained this funding will provide both the new officers and <br /> incumbent officers training and participate in exercises which are presently being done by a lot of <br /> imagination to create or to simulate buildings.
