RESOLUTION NO. 427 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO YWCA OF HAWAII
ISLAND FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2019 FAMILY
VIOLENCE SUMMIT.
WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is
dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace,justice, freedom,
and dignity for all; and
WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island collaborated with the Family Violence
Interagency Committee of East and West Hawai`i, and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to
host the 2019 Family Violence Summit held on November 15, 2019 in Hilo; and
WHEREAS, the 2019 Family Violence Summit was focused on supporting victims of
domestic violence, as well as providing key information to help identify and stop domestic and
family violence in our communities; and
WHEREAS, YWCA of Hawai`i Island is requesting reimbursement for expenses related
to hosting its event, including paper goods, lei, refreshments and lunches; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family
violence prevention and intervention initiatives by collaborating with other governmental and
private agencies to provide workshops and trainings for our communities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to YWCA of Hawai`i Island for reimbursement of
expenses related to host the 2019 Family Violence Summit.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
