Dear Chairman Chung and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Natalie Kurashima, Ph.D., of Kealakekua, to the Cultural
Resources Commission. Dr. Kurashima is employed with the Kamehameha Schools
as the Integrated Resource Manager in the Natural and Cultural Resources
Department.
Dr. Kurashima was born and raised in Hawai'i and is a graduate of the Kamehameha
Schools-Kapalama. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation and
Resources Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Science
degree and a PhD in Botany from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Dr. Kurashima volunteers with numerous community organizations. She states that she
is a member of the Democratic Party. If confirmed, she will serve a term be determined
at time of her confirmation hearing.
