Dear Chairman Chung and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Scott H. Mahoney of Council District 9 to the Cultural
Resources Commission. Mr. Mahoney retired from Environet, Inc. in Waimea, as an
Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technician. He lives on the Waimea Hawaiian
Homestead where he also owns a flower farm
Mr. Mahoney was born and raised in Hawaii and is a graduate of the Kamehameha
Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from the University of
Colorado. Mr. Mahoney is active in the Hawaiian community and is a member of the
Royal Order of Kamehameha. He previously served on the Council for Native Hawaiian
Advancement, Maui Historical Society and other organizations.
Mr. Mahoney states he is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, he will serve
a term to be determined at time of his confirmation hearing.
